How often does system-status check my website?
Every monitor is checked every 60 seconds, including on the free plan. Each check requests your URL and records the HTTP status code and response time; any status below HTTP 400 counts as up.
Is system-status really free?
Yes. The free plan includes 10 monitors with 60-second checks, downtime and SSL expiry alerts, and public status pages — commercial use included, no credit card required. A Pro plan with higher limits is coming soon.
How do downtime alerts work?
You get an email the moment a site goes down, including the exact error, and another email when it recovers, including the total downtime. Alerts fire only when the state changes, so a long outage never floods your inbox.
Does system-status monitor SSL certificates?
Yes. The certificate of every HTTPS monitor is checked daily, and you are warned 14 days and 3 days before it expires — and again if it actually expires — so visitors never hit browser security warnings.
